I never imagined learning to crochet would lead here.

What started as a creative hobby quickly became something bigger after so many of you asked if you could buy the bags I was making.

Instead of simply selling them, I wanted every bag to have a purpose.

That’s why I created The Shermy Collective.
Every handmade item helps support animal rescues, with 50% of profits donated to organizations making a difference in the lives of animals who need it most.

As a veterinary student, this mission is incredibly close to my heart, and I can’t wait to see how much good we can do together.

Vet school takes up a lot of my life, but I try not to let it become my whole life. Planning ahead, protecting my weekends, making time for hobbies, and actually saying yes to social plans helps me come back to school feeling more focused and refreshed.

Balance definitely isn’t perfect every week, but it makes a huge difference over the semester. 🩺✨

Getting rejected definitely wasn’t easy, but looking back, I’m so grateful for that extra year. It gave me the opportunity to reflect on my first application, identify where I could improve, and grow not only as an applicant but as a person. 🤍

If I had to apply to vet school again, I’d focus less on trying to do everything and more on choosing experiences that genuinely helped me grow, challenged me, and taught me something meaningful. Looking back, some of the best things I did for my application were staying organized, reflecting early, and being more intentional with where I put my time.
